Grendel Mech overview

this is the Grendel robot, or mech if you will. it is named after the legendary monster that Bewolf fought in myth. well actually it is supposed to be based on Grendel's mother, but then again Frankenstein's monster wasn't named Frankenstein.


unit type: super robot, meant for combat with 10 to 1 odds and capital class ships.

height: about 5 storys high, or approximately 70ft
weight: seriously you'd rather not know.
power source: compact fission reactor.
movement speed: 80 mi/hr, dodge thrust 130-150 mi/hr
armor: compact carbon-Cristal,absorbing impact design.
shielding: 4 large frontal shields on shoulders and legs utilizing standard partical spread design. two more on back.

armaments:
titanum claws: short range. swiping motion cuts just about anything (can be charged with energy) Grendel can spin uper torso to create a saw like effect.
Crossx laser: a beam laser with ion particles in an x shape going around it. very powerful. located on where wrists would be if designed differently.
integrated crystal missile system(ICMC):unique experimental missiles in the shape of crystal shards, can be fired like a shotgun or given a charge for targeting. are made from energy that the reactor makes, and can therefore be "grown" allowing for much longer combat than with usual missiles. created via energy into matter. the missle system is located on the shoulders, lower legs, chest, and waist.
ion mega canon: a large canon housed in the middle of the chest of the Grendel. is connected directly to the core and is dangerous to use for a number of reasons: the massive amount of power this cannon uses could overload the core and cause a nuclear explosion, the cannons power can make a 120 ft wide 750 ft long path of nothing out of whatever it is aimed at risking excessive collateral damage to the surrounding area and allies, lastly it leaves the fragile core open for about ten seconds long enough to disable the units power supply if fired into the cannon that leads to the core.
